The Amazing Burma: From Himalaya to Yangon
This is a journey to Myanmar (Burma) - a land of mist and color, of teak and gold, where symbols of paganism and Buddhism stand side by side in sanctuaries, and ancient pagodas find harmony with colonial buildings as well as bamboo huts. A land of mystery and magic.
This is a flexible modular program that allows each traveler to embrace the part of Burma that is most interesting for him or her. The modules cover not only all of the classical tourist attractions of the country, but also a new destination in the north – the Burmese Himalaya – which has opened up for visitors not more than 5 years ago.
Below you will find links to the detailed descriptions of possible programs. They can be taken as whole, in parts or combined into a longer trip. The final route will be your own creation in terms of content, time and budget. Please, contact me to start planning!
The best of Burma in 10 days
This is a 10 days exploration of the best sights of Myanmar. We will visit ancient temples and pagodas, browse the busy streets of Yangon, watch the slow motion of Irrawaddy river and pink sunsets at Inle lake. By end of this trip you will know exactly what R. Kipling felt and meant in his timeless “Road to Mandalay”.
This itinerary is suitable for children and/or seniors and provides good level of comfort on every stage.
This is a 13 days deep dive into the Burmese Himalayas with a challenge of summiting one of the most beautiful snowy peaks of the region.
If you have never climbed a mountain before – this is a perfect start! The mountain has opened up for foreign mountaineers only five years ago, and it is still “wild”. Out of all modules of the trip to Burma, this one is the most exciting for me – a true adventure!
This module includes an extension to visit the Northern part of the country – a land of mountains at the spurs of Himalayas. There we will have a light 4 days trekking and explore the life of rural villages. This is a unique chance to visit a region that has opened up to tourists only recently and is often overlooked by travelers due to its remoteness.
Thailand and Burma
This program has an extension to see the North-West of Thailand and the famous White Temple - Wat Rong Kun.
