The town of Foix is situated at the confluence of the Ariège and Arget rivers. A habitat was based here during the times of the Merovingian dynasty (6-7 century). On a rock high above the town stands an ancient castle – Chateau de Foix. It played a significant role in the medieval military history. And on the narrow winding streets of the old town center, right at the foot of the fortress, we can find stone devoured homes like this. People live there and probably feel they’ve got things covered!
